Joe Harris and all of us here at Morgan Financial hope that everyone in Brevard County made it through Hurricane Matthew with as little damage and stress as possible. As you probably know, we were incredibly lucky here in Brevard and were able to avoid the worst of the storm.

However, there were others in the Bahamas, Haiti, and other parts of the East Coast that weren’t so lucky, and many lost everything from their homes to their lives during the storm. Here are few ways that you can help those who were tragically affected:

Volunteer

The Red Cross is calling for volunteers in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. You can apply on their website and find out if there are any opportunities to help in your area.

Volunteer Florida is also calling for volunteers to help in affected areas in Florida, and you can sign up here.

Give Blood

The Red Cross had to cancel blood drives due to the storm, which only adds more to the already urgent demand for blood and platelets. If you can’t give cash or supplies, donating blood is a wonderful way to help. You can find a blood drive in your area here.

Donate

If you can’t volunteer your time, there are many organizations that are going out and providing aid both regionally and internationally. The Center for International Disaster Information has compiled a list of charities that are experienced and participating directly in relief efforts.

Please keep all those affected in your thoughts and prayers, and we hope you recover well and have a great week back at work and school.
